What would you do if you could become the god of the world? The god named Odin, asks Yuta the protaginist, while also stating the world ends in 30 days. Most would reasonably ignore the little loli spouting off they are a god, but this unreasonable loli is more than what meets the eye.

Kamisama Ni Natta Hi blends the genres of comedy, slice of life, romance, and terrible writing into a confusing amalgamation. The writer Jun Maeda helped to write for many popular series, for example he wrote Angel Beats, Charlotte, and Little Busters. As a Jun Maeda anime many anticipated an ending with water ...

PA Works + Jun Maeda is something that needs to stop urgently!

Okay, it's not as if everything about Kamisama ni Natta hi is the culmination of the decadence of Jun Maeda's shows. We need to go in parts. We all know the efforts of this famous writer. It was he who created Clannad, Angel Beats and Charlotte, all well-known and well commented animes. Of course, while there is the positive side, where drama and sadness continues and evolves during his stories, issues involving exaggerated sentimentality and ruined attempts to fit a bold story into something that didn't need it, Jun Maeda was talked about and ...

As lifelong fan of KEY and Jun Maeda, this is the first title I'm utterly disappointed with. Dropped it at 5th episode, but as a fanboy I just feel the need to finish watching the rest.

It gets really boring really fast. You can skip 8 out of 12 episodes and you can still get what the writer is trying to convey here. KEY usually has brilliant sound, but this one is just failed to linger in my head— none are remarkable or sort.

The only thing I like is the character design. I think it's fair to say that the art is still good ...

I would give 0 (ZERO) if I could. Why?

Total waste of time! I'm so pissed. Don't spend time on this VERY poor anime.

At first, this anime deceive you thinking she actually could be some kind of god, even not mighty (limited) but still.

Then they deceive you AGAIN about all that crap of "The World is coming to an End".

If she can predict the future, she could very well has escaped that sucky destiny, but she won't, because the anime already sucks so much (and if she managed to do that, it would end on the very FIRST episode).

Then they keep repeating ...

Finishing this anime was truly a case of, "mixed feelings".

I'll start off with the visuals of the show. I was a big fan of the character designs, and the scenery was nice. Each character had an appearance fitting for their character. The animation was pleasing to the eye and neat. Very smooth.

The characters themselves are a different story haha. I feel that the characters didn't have enough time to get that proper development. Yea, there were some scenes that helped, but only for a select few characters, one of which got minimum screen time. The only ...

Terrible anime and maybe it's just the times we're in, after stumbling timidly through the first 9 episodes along comes the peril a shadowy government organization led by a CEO begins moving to abduct and permanently damage the main character. Alll other characters timidly allow the abductors to take her like good little japanese and the last 2 episodes is our now neutered male main showing drawings to the new mentally destroyed main character. No governments are exposed, despite a computer hacking genius being on thier side all the people behind the scenes get away scot free. It's beyond disgusting seeing the main character now ...

My man Jun Maeda needs his 2 cour.

Kamisama is by no means a bad anime with its premise. In fact, I remember seeing the announcement when the show first previewed thinking that there was some promise that the show could deliver on... that is, until I saw the dreaded 12 episode count. So, what's to happen when Jun Maeda, a writer whose best works are that of shows with extreme detail, is given 12 episodes to work with? A whole bunch of directional changes that do not help the show at all. The first few episodes start off promisingly, getting us used to the ...

One of the goals that Maeda Jun, the man behind this story, had was to make the most heartbreaking anime ever. Well after revealing his story to the world, he did make a heartbreaking anime, in the sense that my heart was broken by how Maeda no longer has his beautiful spark from years gone by.

From the beginning, I was excited. I thought it would be better than Angel Beats! and Charlotte combined. I came thinking that since the first 2 original Maeda anime weren't the best, the third time's the charm. I came in thinking highly of this anime - heck I watched the ...

First off: this wont be a formal analysis, I'll just write down the main reasons I didn't like this anime.

The thing that hurts the most is that this story was written by Jun Maeda, the author behind Angel Beats!. I expected something at least ok-ish regarding this aspect (script, characters, etc), but it feels like the work of an amateur, no, let me rephrase that: it's inherently bad. I don't know what happen to this author but it feels like after Angel Beats! he just didn't want to (or didn't know how) tell nothing else. If you wanted to tell me a story about overcoming ...

Preliminary (10/12 eps)

I watched this as a part of Fall Anime of 2020, it was fun to start off with, maybe the first few episodes. But as the story goes, i lost interest and by the time i made it ep 9 and 10, watching it, just got me sleeping.

I watch a lot of anime from a lot of genres but this one gets straight up boring through the middle. I lost the will to find out what happened next right after ep 3 or 4.

Good attempt for an Anime, but could've been better

Maybe more comedy or more animation during comedy scenes would've helped, the story is ...

*This is my first time writing a review, so there may be difficulties in understanding what I'm trying to say

Story: 4
The show wasn't bad at first. People spending their final days before world apocalypse, doing fun things they never tried before. The writing was good enough to provide decent enjoyment. But then the 2nd part of the show came. Things escalated really quickly. Hina's past is revealed, the government steps in, and the show takes on a dark turn that was supposed to tug your heartstrings. Sadly, it failed miserably at that. At this point the show is ridiculous and unnecessarily melodramatic. It was ...

Remember when Jun Maeda said: "this is going to be the saddest anime I've ever produced", and people went crazy?? So it is. Unfortunately, such a promise was not fulfilled, and ended up leaving a large audience disappointed and furious. I personally don't know why some people rated the show 1 or 2. Seriously, IT IS NOT THE WORST ANIME THAT EXISTS, for God's sake. But, let me explain.

So, the first thing I want to make clear is that: I AM NOT A HATER OF MAEDA. On the contrary, I admire many of his works. I love Angel Beats, Little Busters, Clannad, Air and etc. ...

Kamisama ni Natta Hi, or "The Day i become a God"...IMAO, this is anything than becoming a god, given that the character in that title isn't god at all, so , WTF is going on within the mind of studio P.A Works and a certain "Key" to come up with something like this?

Spoilers possible.

Story:

Pros: It basically has what can be call an organize form of a chaotic, plot, where it starts out with guy meeting a nut case girl who claims to be a god, given that this is an original, we audience were made to believe that there is something in climatic in it......but:

Cons: ...

Frankly speaking the anime started out great and ended with a huge meh.
It started good because you can see good chemistry going on between the characters and the funny plot twist going on in the anime, but at the end where the drama start it fail so hard.
You can feel the desperation and doubt going on with the MC due to his limitation of time available to spend on Hina in the facility but after that shit just got way retarded.

Others would say a miracle happened at the end but for me I would say it's a plot armor.
The director wanted to end the ...

If you are a fan of Jun Maeda, you probably have found a interesting, or a bit weird fact that is after the success of Clannad, Angel Beats and Charlotte as well, Jun Maeda is persistently attempt to create a story like: The point of view is from everyday lives, however, there's always a secret undercover events behind this peaceful everyday life(in this anime it's the end of the world), within the story the Protagonist is trying to dig it out (sometimes not intentionally). The climax of the plot is always in the end which is last one or two episode(s) and in the last ...

If there's anything a good writer or artist in general, knows to avoid, it's the concept of product over process.

The creator, Jun Maeda, seems to have forgotten such. Besides from straight out saying, "I will make you cry," when describing his writing process, it couldn't already be clearer just how much he follows this ideology.

The Day I Became God follows a high schooler named Youta. It's his last summer as a high schooler and he's spending his time studying for entrance exams. One day he's hanging with his friend and encounters a little girl named Hina, claiming to be a god. She dresses weird and ...

If you're familiar with Jun Maeda's original works like Angel Beats and Charlotte, you probably know that Maeda has a certain... reputation. Comedy slice-of-life meets extreme melodrama, emotional potency, and a bittersweet ending. Pacing is always all over the place, humor is offbeat and usually doesn't hit the mark, and plot logic never holds up to serious scrutiny. Yet, we (or at least I) continue to watch his shows, partially out of curiosity and partially to see if he can get us to board the Feels Train despite his less-than stellar storytelling habits.

Kamisama ni Natta Hi is exactly what I expected from Maeda. There are ...

Jun Maeda is a Japanese writer mainly known for his work on Angel beats and Clannad, at least when it comes to anime. After being met with success early in his career because of the influential shows he wrote, and for pioneering the Nakige genre, people began to become more "critical" of his later work. This probably sounds like a story you've heard time and time again, a young visionary writer becomes successful and then compromises on the things that made them great... but this type of sentiment in my personal opinion shouldn't be applied to Jun Maeda's work, because Maeda's work has never gone ...

I remember talking with a friend this year. I told him that I am miss watching an anime made by Key, an anime wrote by Jun Maeda. You see, the animes from Key has some special "feel" about them. The atmosphere, the music, the characters, the way it balances the comedic moments and the dramatic ones. Of course they aren't perfect, but I think the good things outshines the flaws by far.

Clannad was my first anime by them and one of the first animes that I've watched when I decided that the media was some kind of hobby for me. It was the very ...

I feel like people are trying to justify that this anime is good based on previous enjoyment of works by Jun Maeda. I haven't watched Clannad at this time, but Angel beats, Charlotte, and now The Day I Became a God all run into similar problems: forgettable characters. Each anime listed above provides an interesting plots that will hook you to the story, but seems both slow and rushed at the same time. It's hard to explain, but when I think back to each of these shows there's always a mundane couple of episodes in the middle followed by a huge curveball to the plot. ...
