But the region is not immune from the challenges facing democracy and rule of law globally. On average, WJP #RuleofLawIndex scores in the region have dipped slightly(-0.6%) since the last EU elections in 2019, and several EU countries have experienced notable declines. With support from the European Union in Ghana (EU), we engage stakeholders across the Western, Northern, and Ashanti regions on July 4 in an engrossing conversation to empower them to add their voices to the advocacy for these needed reforms. 🗳️ Make Your Voice Heard: Demand BSL Accessibility in the 2024 General Elections 🗳️As we approach the 2024 General Elections, it's crucial to ensure that every citizen can fully participate in the democratic process. However, for the 151,000 British Sign Language (BSL) primary users in the UK, accessibility remains a significant challenge.🤔 Did you know that without BSL translations, political information may be inaccessible to many members of our BSL community? This exclusion not only violates legal mandates under the Equality Act 2010 and the BSL Act 2022 but also undermines the principles of democracy – equal representation and participation for all.📣 Let's demand change. Contact your local political representatives and urge them to prioritise BSL accessibility in the 2024 General Elections. Together, we can ensure that every voice is heard and every vote counts. #BSLAccessibility #InclusiveDemocracy #2024ElectionsUK
